Vaccinations that are Free with all Health Insurance

All health insurance plans that have been in place since 2013 must include 100% coverage of common immunizations and preventative health care for children when services are delivered by a doctor or other provider in the plan’s network.

Whether you have insurance privately, through your employer, or as part of the Affordable Care Act, the vaccinations in the accompanying infographic are all free. Families may see that grocery stores or other retail locations charge a fee to adults or the uninsured for vaccines administered in their pharmacies, such as the yearly flu shot. If you want to visit one of these locations to receive vaccinations, double check that it’s in your plan’s network for coverage.

In addition to vaccinations, preventative health screenings and assessments such as pediatric well-visits, oral health risk and mental health screenings are also included in all health care plans that include children.
